Dr.Amar Agarwal, Joint Managing director of Dr.Agarwal’s eye hospital took the first prize in the coveted video awards held at the ESCRS conference in Sweden from Sept 8-12 2007. This video award for eye doctors is akin to the Hollywood Oscar awards. Doctors from all over the world send their top videos showing innovative and difficult cases being operated upon. The award ceremony was held in a grad function in the conference venue in Stockholm where the winners are given a lovely crystal statuette award. Dr.Agarwal won for his production, “Flap wars”. With a nod to Star Wars in the introduction, Dr Agarwal compares the newer Intralase (Blade-free Lasik) to the light sabres of the film, highlighting the laser's role in the battle to reduce flap-related complications in LASIK procedures (procedure to remove short sight and long sight with laser) .In the video, he describes and illustrates the complications encountered with blades when doing Lasik. He also suggests ways of dealing with such complications when they occur and provides tips on avoiding postoperative complications. ”. THIS IS THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW THAT DR.AGARWAL IS WINNING THE VIDEO AWARD AT THE ESCRS CONFERENCE.. |
