Fellowship in Clinical Optometry

Objectives of the program:

To improve the skill sets of optometrists
To expose the optometrists to wide range of patients, enhancing their clinical knowledge

Course Content: 

Training during the course would cover the following:

Contact lenses

Speciality contact lenses

Low vision aids

Posterior segment investigations

Anterior segment investigations

Cataract investigations

Patient care

Soft skills

Further, the students would be exposed to Standard Operating Procedures and various processes.

Duration and Stipend:

Duration of the program is 9 months. During the program, the students would be given a stipend of Rs 5000/- per month

Location:

The training would be provided mainly in Chennai at various centres of Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital. During the program, the fellows would be posted to other cities for gaining exposure.

Selection Process:

The optometrist would have to appear for an entrance test held in various cities. Upon shortlisting, they would have to appear for a personal interview.

Important Dates*:

15th July: Last date for submission of application

22nd July: Receipt of information of examination centre

25th July: Exam

31st July: Declaration of results

8th & 9th August: Personal Interview

August 14th: Commencement of program
