Common Eye Investigations

OCT / Optical Coherence Tomography

OCT is a non-invasive tool that takes a photograph of the retina

Fundus photography

The fundus camera takes photographs of the interior parts of the eye so that the doctor can examine structures such as optic disc, retina and the lens

Orbscan

This investigation enables detailed understanding of anterior cornea surface, posterior corneal surface, thickness and surface power

Perimetry

Perimetry is an eye examination that can detect problems in central and peripheral vision which may be caused by various medical conditions such as glaucoma, brain tumours or neurological problems

Specular microscopy

Specular microscopy is a non-invasive photographic technique that allows to visualize and analyze the corneal endothelium

Anterior segment OCT

This is a non invasive method to get high resolution 3D imaging of the cornea and the anterior segment

Tips

Don’t dilate & drive !

For better and accurate test results, the doctor may ask your pupils to be dilated by putting eye drops. Please note that dilation makes your eyes more sensitive to light and you may not be able to drive for a few hours post dilation. So please plan your trip accordingly

Listen carefully to post-op care !

Make sure that you follow post-op care instructions as this will ensure that your recovery period is short
