Dr. Chinsisi Namate Nyirenda is a skilled Ophthalmologist with over 5 years of experience, based in Malawi. She has a special interest in glaucoma and cataract surgery, with extensive expertise in surgical, laser, and medical management of glaucoma.

Her clinical proficiency spans across general ophthalmology, including cataract care, medical retina, and anterior segment conditions. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Nyirenda brings valuable experience in leadership, outreach coordination, proposal writing, and clinical research, along with contributions to medical publications.

She holds advanced qualifications in ophthalmology, including a Master’s in Clinical Ophthalmology from the University of Edinburgh, a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Kamuzu University of Health Sciences. She has also completed a General Fellowship from COECSA and specialized glaucoma training through IOFF, Zambia.
