Dr. Rajat Kapoor

Dr. Rajat Kapoor is an experienced ophthalmologist with over 15 years of clinical expertise and 30,000+ ophthalmic surgical procedures to his credit. He specializes in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Strabismus/Squint (pediatric and adult), Nystagmus and Adult premium Cataract surgeries (FLACS/Robotic/Premium IOL). He currently serves as the Head of Clinical Services at Dr Agarwals eye hospital, Rajouri Garden

Dr Rajat Kapoor completed his basic medical training from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Maharashtra affiliated to MUHS, Nashik. He did his Diploma in Ophthalmology from Joseph eye hospital in Trichy where he won the gold medal followed by D.N.B in Ophthalmology from Sankara Eye Hospital in Coimbatore. Dr Kapoor then went on to do a fellowship in Paediatric/Neuro-ophthalmology and Strabismus from LV Prasad eye institute, Hyderabad. This was followed by a consultancy position at LV Prasad eye institute, Visakhapatnam. Subsequently, he was a senior faculty and heading the Paediatric/Neuro-ophthalmology and Strabismus services at Pushpagiri eye institute, Hyderabad.
He is a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (F.I.C.O) London and also a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (F.R.C.S). Having travelled the length and breadth of the country, he has a wide experience in public health.

His unique surgical skill transfer workshops gain a lot of attention by residents and fellows across India. He has mentored over 12 long term clinical ophthalmology fellows, 20 ophthalmology residents and more than 150 ophthalmology observers, short term fellows and optometrists. He has headed the cataract surgical training program where he has guided more than 120 ophthalmologists in hands-on cataract surgical training. He is a consultant mentor/ advisor for organizations in and outside India for developing ophthalmology residency/fellowship programmes.
