Dr. N. Sharmila is a highly accomplished Glaucoma Specialist with over 25 years of clinical, surgical, and academic experience in ophthalmology. She completed her MBBS from Madras Medical College and her post-graduation from the prestigious Regional Institute of Ophthalmology & Government Ophthalmic Hospital (RIOGOH), Chennai, where she currently serves as the Chief of Glaucoma Services.
With deep expertise in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, Dr. Sharmila has played a pivotal role in advancing both patient care and ophthalmic education. She has over 22 years of teaching experience, mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students, fellows in glaucoma, and allied healthcare professionals across India.
A respected academic leader, she serves as Chief Editor of RIO Times, and holds editorial positions with the Journal of Madras Medical College and the Indian Journal of Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology.
