Meet Dr. Priyanka Mondal
Dr. Priyanka Mondal has over 20 years of experience in the field of Ophthalmology. She completed her MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College, graduating with honours in several subjects, including Ophthalmology.
Following her MBBS, she trained under senior ophthalmologists, gaining early hands-on exposure in refraction, slit-lamp examination, and the evaluation of chronic retinal conditions such as diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy.
She went on to pursue a Diploma in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Regional Institute of Kolkata, where she received extensive surgical training. During this period, she performed hundreds of cataract surgeries, including small incision and micro-incision cataract surgery and phacoemulsification. She also gained experience in glaucoma surgeries such as trabeculectomy, oculoplastic procedures including DCR and DCT, lid margin tumour excisions, evisceration, and enucleation.
In addition, she acquired expertise in the management of diabetic retinopathy through retinal lasers and intravitreal injections, as well as performing laser procedures for post-cataract complications.
