Among various medical specialties, eyecare is considered paramount, as vision health is inevitable for people to lead a quality and productive life. However, thanks to the changing lifestyle, environmental pollution, and the intensification of the digital age, threats to vision are steadily increasing. Hence, our government is paying special attention to reach modern eye care services to people of all social and economic strata. We are doubling down on eye care programmes – be it screening camps or setting up of advanced surgical interventions. In this context, the entry of private players like Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital is the need of the hour for us to ensure that people of Andhra Pradesh have access to advanced eye care at affordable cost.”

Talking about investment and expansion plans of the hospital in Andhra Pradesh, Prof. Amar Agarwal, Chairman, Dr Agarwals Group of Eye Hospitals said, “Under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the state is making rapid strides in healthcare. We are excited to be a part of the growth story of the state and are equally committed to bringing innovations to make eye care easier, better, and more precise for the people of Andhra Pradesh. We are already present in six districts in Andhra Pradesh, serving over 2000 patients a day. In a few years, we will have our world-class eyecare centers in all the districts of the state and in major cities such as Bhimavaram, Kakinada, Machilipatanam, and Gajuvaka. We have laid out an investment plan of Rs 500 crore towards establishing 30 new hospitals in next 3 years.”
