Clinical Training

A) Comprehensive Training in the Evaluation and Diagnosis of Glaucoma that includes

  • Tonometry, Gonioscopy and Disc Evaluation
  • Interpretation and Clinical Correlation of Visual Field. And Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) of Disc and Retinal Nerve Fibre Layer
  • Other Modalities of Investigation involved in Glaucoma Diagnosis – Ultrasound Pachymetry, Ultrasound biomicroscopy, Anterior Segment – OCT


B) Approach to the Medical and Surgical Management of Different Types of Glaucoma (Primary and Secondary Glaucoma) that includes hands-on training in

  • Out-Patient Procedures like Laser Iridotomy
  • Cyclodestructive Procedure – Cyclocryotherapy

C) Training in Pre- and Post-operative Care of Glaucoma Patients

 

Hands-on Surgical Training

  • Cataract Surgeries – Phacoemulsification, Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS)
  • Glaucoma Surgeries – Trabeculectomy, Combined Surgeries (Phacoemulsification + Trabeculectomy, SICS + Trabeculectomy)

Duration: 12 Months

Eligibility: MS/DO/DNB in Ophthalmology

Intake of fellows will be twice a year.
