Dr. Raunaq Poonia

Dr. Raunaq Poonia is an ophthalmologist with specialised training in vitreo-retinal diseases and comprehensive experience in retinal diagnostics and treatment. He holds an MBBS and MS in Ophthalmology and has completed a Vitreo-Retina Fellowship from Retina Hospital, Rajkot. His professional experience also includes working as an Assistant Professor at Dr. S.S. Tantia Medical College, Ganganagar, reflecting his involvement in both clinical care and medical education.

Dr. Poonia has expertise in comprehensive retinal evaluation and advanced diagnostic imaging, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), OCT angiography, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), ultrawidefield retinal imaging, ultrasonography and detailed fundus examination. His clinical skills include retinal laser photocoagulation and intravitreal injections, along with working knowledge of scleral buckling and vitrectomy procedures.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Poonia has demonstrated a strong commitment to research and academic development. His published work covers diverse ophthalmic subjects, including corneal ulcers, ocular manifestations of COVID-19, glaucoma genetics, diabetic retinopathy and epiretinal membrane. He has also presented research at major academic forums including ROSCON, AIOC, AIOS ARC and APAO, covering topics ranging from eye donation awareness and corneal astigmatism to retinal vascular disorders and advanced retinal imaging.
