Dr. Prerna Garg is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist with over 15 years of experience, specializing in glaucoma, cataract, and anterior segment care. She completed her MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and MS in Ophthalmology from Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, earning gold medals in both. She further pursued a long-term fellowship in Glaucoma and Cataract at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi, and is a certified MIGS surgeon. Her professional journey includes key roles at reputed institutions such as Lady Hardinge Medical College, Batra Hospital, Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, and Centre for Sight, Dwarka.
Dr. Garg has extensive surgical expertise, having performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries, including complex cases, and more than 1,500 trabeculectomies along with tube implants and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) like GATT, KDB, and iStent. She is skilled in both medical and surgical management of simple and advanced glaucoma, including pediatric and refractory cases, as well as advanced laser treatments such as YAG PI, SLT, and iridoplasty. An active academician, she has numerous publications in national and international journals, contributed to multiple book chapters, and regularly presents at major conferences like AIOS, DOS, and APGC. She is also passionate about patient awareness, education, and mentoring young ophthalmologists, while staying engaged with the latest advancements such as Rho-kinase inhibitors in glaucoma management.
